This sweet paste bait was developed by accident during experiments with trapping lures. It quickly became evident that in areas where deer, black bear, and wild hogs were present, this lure would be useless as a trapping lure because, in most cases, the larger animals were springing traps before the furbearers could get there. Wildlife biologists use this bait to trap and relocate bears and hogs all over the USA.
