I absolutely love the H.O.T latches! There are many times where the 10-foot H.O.T latches are way too much, and these 5 footers are just perfect! I have also added a 5-foot H.O.T. latch to my 10-foot H.O.T. latches to make a 15-foot reach, which has saved me a bunch of time in the long run.
How i wish I had this book as a beginning trapper! This book has all the information needed to get an aspiring trapper off the ground and moving in the right direction. It's a good read for us old timers too just to brush up on the basics and you might pick up on something new as well. This is just the book to have on hand to give to a kid that has that twinkle in their eye and just needs a little boost.
This book should be in every trappers library. I read this book as a young trapper 'till the pages were dogeared. Viewing from today's standards a lot of the information is outdated like trap size recommendations (way too big) and sets that would take all day to build. But, read in the proper historical context there is still a lot of useful knowledge to be found in this book. If you have not read this book yet you owe it to yourself to give it a go
